A game playing out on the watch. Tap the left or right half to score it yourself.

How it works

Four steps, and only one of them during the rally.

1Pick the format

One set, best of 3 or 5, or two sets and a match tiebreak. With advantage, a deciding point, or games only.

2Say who serves

The ball sits at the server’s baseline and moves by the rules, also inside a tiebreak.

3Tap your half

Left for you, right for your opponent. Mis-tapped? Hold the screen and the point comes back.

4Save the match

The result, your serve statistics and a Tennis activity in Garmin Connect.

On your wrist

Readable at a glance, between two serves.

Deuce on a Garmin watch: the tennis court from above with the score 30:15 and the ring of games

The court, from above

Your points left, your opponent’s right, the net in the middle. The ring around the edge fills with the games of the set: yellow yours, white theirs.

Deuce scoreboard look: a row per player with sets and points

Or a TV scoreboard

A row per player with every set and the points in the yellow cell. Tap the top row or the bottom one.

Advantage shown as a sign on the net at AD:40

Deuce, advantage, deciding point

What is on shows as a sign on the net, so nobody argues at 40:40.

Tiebreak at 5:4 with the server marked

Tiebreaks done right

To 7 at 6:6, a match tiebreak to 10 in the deciding set, and the right server for every point.

Change ends reminder on the net after an odd game

Time to change ends

Three short buzzes after every odd game and every six tiebreak points.

Serve statistics after a match: games, points, points won on serve, break points, holds

Statistics

Serve statistics nobody had to type.

Deuce knows who served every point, so one tap per point is enough to tell where the match was won.

Points won on serveYours and your opponent’s, in per cent.
Break pointsConverted out of the chances, for both of you. Saved ones are the difference.
Service games heldHow often each of you kept serve.
Games and pointsThe whole match in two numbers each.

After every match, any time from the match menu, and for every match in the history.

Made for sweaty hands

One tap counts. The second one doesn’t.

Tap = point

Left half for you, right half for your opponent. On the buttons: up for you, down for them.

Hold = undo

Hold the screen and the last point goes back, as many times as you need. “Undone” on the net confirms it.

Tap guard

A second touch within 1.5 s is ignored, so a racket swing or a wet finger doesn’t add a point. You can switch it off.

End of match screen: win 6:4 3:6 7:6 with duration and share of points won

After the last point

A real Tennis activity in Garmin Connect.

Heart rate and calories from the watch, every set as a lap, and sets, games and points won and lost in the activity summary, so training load and recovery count the match.

Questions

Does it work for doubles?

Yes. The score is counted the same way: “me” is your team, and the ball shows which team serves.

Do I need my phone on court?

No. Everything runs on the watch. The activity syncs to Garmin Connect afterwards like any other.

What if the app closes mid-match?

Open it again and the match goes on where it stopped, with every point kept.

Which rules does it follow?

Standard tennis scoring: sets to 6 with a two-game lead, a tiebreak to 7 at 6:6, a match tiebreak to 10 in the deciding set if you choose that format, advantage or a deciding point at 40:40, and change of ends after odd games.

Can I count games only?

Yes. In Scoring choose Games only and one tap is one game. The statistics then show service games held and breaks.

Does Deuce collect any data?

No. Your matches stay on the watch, and the activity is saved by Garmin to your own Garmin Connect account.
